Odell Trask Archibald grew up in the town of Stephenville Crossing and is the youngest of eleven children. Her career as an artist started in 2002. In 2006 her illustrations in the book P is for Puffin, a Newfoundland and Labrador Alphabet, was nominated for the Lillian Shepherd award for excellence in illustration for Atlantic Canada.
She has been chosen by the Clarenville Chamber of Commerce for the 2011 Christmas Ornament entitled “Outport Carolers”. Being very passionate about her work, she paints daily at her studio located in Stephenville, Newfoundland. Her work is colourful, detailed and captures her love of family and nature. Odell has also lived on the south coast of Newfoundland in Burgeo and Burin which has helped her to appreciate and love the outport community lifestyle. She now resides in Kippens, Newfoundland with her husband and has three sons.
